Prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation causes photodegradation of polymer materials used in Touch Panels, such as polarizers, optical adhesives, and protective coatings. UV blocking mitigates yellowing, delamination, and loss of optical clarity, ensuring long-term durability.

2.Optical Performance Maintenance

UV rays can alter the refractive index of optical layers, leading to reduced brightness, color distortion, and decreased contrast. By filtering UV wavelengths (typically 280–400 nm), screens maintain consistent color accuracy and readability under direct sunlight.

3.Touch Sensor Stability

Capacitive Touchscreens rely on transparent conductive layers (e.g., ITO or metal mesh). UV-induced oxidation or micro-cracking can increase electrical resistance, causing touch drift or failure. UV blocking protects these conductive elements from radiation damage.

UV radiation weakens organic adhesives and seals between layers, risking moisture ingress (a critical issue for outdoor IP-rated displays). Blocking UV preserves bonding strength and waterproofing.

UV light can exacerbate surface glare by interacting with anti-reflective coatings. Selective UV filtering minimizes this effect, enhancing viewability in bright environments.
